Here are some PlaySay Products that anyone studying Japanese with an iPod-like device might want to consider adding to their toolbox. With PlaySay you can quiz yourself on Japanese vocabulary from popular sources such as the Japanese Language Proficiency Exam (JLPT) and the Genki Textbook Series.

Japanese products from PlaySay are available in a wide variety of combinations. If you are a beginner or intermediate Japanese learner and planning to study from the Genki Textbook (as you should), I would recommend that you get the Genki 1 & 2 Textbook Vocabulary Audio Image Flashcards. If this isn’t you there are a variety of other products so check the list below.

Note, the Audio Image Flashcard sets include the audio and flashcards for each vocabulary item. The Image Flashcard Sets do not include the audio files so you can only study visually. I would recommend getting the audio sets, because there is nothing worse than learning to pronounce a new word incorrectly and then having to relearn it again.

The JLPT products are oganized by test level. Remember JLPT N1 is the most difficult JLPT exam, and JLPT N5 is the easiest exam. If you have been studying Japanese for a few years in an organized way, you will probably do good to start with N4. I would recommend going with the JLPT N4 & N5 Audio Image Flashcards.
