Smoke
[Update: 8/9/2004 More posters below]
Tokyo has these kick butt adds going around to encourage people to stop smoking.
The organization that does the ads is... http://www.jti.co.jp
Here they are... ads...
I haven't had a chance to check the site yet, but I imagine that they have high quality copies for there ads on there. They're really funny. Doncha think?
And if you haven't heard the rumors, people smoke A LOT. In Japan. Stinky.

Awesome, post more if you get them Harvey.
Found more actually. Will try to put them up tomorrow morning.
Ya i seen a lot of pictures with people mostly young people smoking. What's up with that? Is it the in thing in japan
lol!!! that is so coool! I wish they would bring ads like these out in Australia. We have these ones for being an organ donor at the moment which are pretty confronting. But these are just funny! nice work
Isn't JT the only tabacco company in Japan?
This stuff is great. Simple, but grabs attention. Maybe I should print them out and post them randomly around Chicago.
why is so much written in engliah?
have i been wasting my time all these months learning japanese for my future trip there?
Actually the ads are to encourage people to be 'responsible' smokers not to stop smoking. Japan Tobacco is of course still interested in selling their cigarettes. They are just getting on the CSR (Corporate Social Responbility) bandwagon. Personally I think they are hilarious! But, I hope they work because I for one am sick of constanly being enveloped in a cloud of smoke whereever I am.
Well done, I think you've collected them all;-)
