Fun Kansai-ben Tongue Twister (早口言葉 hayakuchikotoba) I noticed in my Twitter stalking a while ago.

Quite funny!

Transcript and translation:

わかったんかい?
wakattankai?
Got it? (Do you understand?)

わからへんのかい?
wakarahennokai?
You didn’t get it? (You don’t understand??)

わかったらわかったと、わからへんかったら、わからへんかったと言わんかったら、わかったか、わからへんかったか、わからへんやろがい!

wakattara wakatta to, wakarahenkattara wakarahenkattato iwankattara wakattaka wakarahenkattaka wakarahenyarougai!
If you got it say so, if you didn’t get it say so! If not I won’t know whether you got it or not!

わかった?
Got it!? (Understand?)

Here’s the not as cool “standard” Japanese version of the same.

If you’re curious about Kansai-ben check out our Kansai-ben lessons, and also check out the Kansai-ben iPhone application if you haven’t already!

I think maybe I should record myself saying this. But, my better half says I shouldn’t…

Hrmmmmm…..
