Mos Day Plants
March 13, 2008 on 8:27 am | In Crazy Consumers | | Email This PostHey everyone.
Yesterday, March 12th, was MOS Burger Day all across Japan.
I still had to work…
My wife happened to go to MOS Burger though for lunch, and was presented with this wonderful MOS Day present.

Apparently they give outo plants every MOS Day. Nice! This one is a 松葉牡丹 (matsubabotan), which seems to be some kind of pine tree.
I’m going to put the seed in the dirt… And put water on the dirt… and I’ll let you know if anything happens.
Time to give the green thumbs another workout!

Only in Japan!! LoL First Mos Burger Day and then they give you a full size pot and a seed to grow a tree. It this to counteract the concrete-ness that is Japan? =P
Hopefully it turns out better than the poor wasabi plant :o( did you at least eat the leaves off the plant before you dumped it?

がんばれ!i looked up the name in my denshi jisho: the genus is portulaca, and some of them are apparently edible. so if it doesn’t work out at least you’ll have the fixings for a salad…

Hopefully this one won’t meet the same fate as Mr. Wasabi…
