There are some automatic filtration units for giving your cat or small pet clean water. It constantly filters and recycles the water in a small resevoir. This might be an ideal condition for your plant to be in, and you wouldn't have to give it as much attention. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be free. But, I think they are only about $30US.

Harvey - just change the water and talk to it and ignore the withering things. It will tell you what it needs and it's up to you to listen and hear. (Grasshopper) What were your instructions? Are you supposed to ever put it in soil? Because at the rate this thing is growing I wonder if you have a pot big enough to keep it going in water!

Your wasabi plant is about as old as my hair (shaved is my common style). Let's hope I have a nice healthy afro by the time you harvest it.
