Halloween on the Yamanote train line

November 2, 2007 on 11:10 pm | In Society, Tokyo | | Email This Post

Maybe you’ve heard of the partying that occurs every halloween on the Yamanote loop line in Tokyo.

This year was a bit special, as the Japanese net crowd (2ch) caught wind of it, and attempted to protest.

JapanProbe has the whole Yamanote Halloween story, and took a lot of the blame!

This event also occurs in Osaka on the kanjyo-sen, but I have never been to it!

I think it’s a disgrace to use public transport to play games. Consider the people who are working and just trying to get home. I think they should have been arrested and held for a couple of hours. Seriously. When you are in someone else’s country show some respect. It’s not your playground. Aside from the xenophobic/racial comments I saw on 2ch, I think Japanese people were right to be upset.
