Who else is waiting for it to shoot lasers?

Thanks for alerting me to this monolith. I’ve lined my hat and helmet with tin foil as preparation. Hopefully I’m far away enough from the epicenter. It was nice knowing you, Harvey.

Umm… I hear sometimes they allow people to go inside of it… Maybe that’s the safest place?

“Due to the repair and renovation for the 40th anniversary event of the Expo ’70 in 2010, the tower is closed again. It is planned to be open to the public again during the event in 2010.”

I’m guessing it is there to protect the Time Capsule that will be opened in the year 6970.

On another tangent, several months ago a previously unknown work by Tower of the Sun artist Tara Okamoto was on display near Odaiba. Apparently it was a giant mural he painted for a hotel in Mexico that never opened.

Hrm. Another tangent, this guy is famous for saying “芸術が爆発だ” which means, “art explodes!” Or, “An art explosion!”

I honestly did not expect to this kind of reaction from such an innocent tower. You guys always keep things interesting! Tin foil… geeesh.

I’m immune anyway, the desert already fried my brain. Also, I levelled up lately and spent my experience points on +20% Anthrax Resistance and +40% Brain Fry Resistance. Interesting is an understatement around me :P

You guys are going to LOVE the post I got coming for tomorrow…

    An “Art explosion”?!
They can’t mean the anti-proton bomb from 20th/21st Century Boys, can they?

  • http://www.japannewbie.com harvey

Hey Tadashi are you referring to the manga 21st Century Boys? I’ve been meaning to read that.. It came highly recommended by a super otaku friend, so I know it’s gotta be good!

  • Tadashi

Yeah, 20th Century Boys (and the last 2 volumes called 21st Century Boys) is a really good seinen manga. The anti-proton bomb is part of the plot of 21st Century Boys.
Short trivia and bragging: A cousin (Hashimoto Cozoh) of my japanese teacher was Urasawa Naoki’s assistent and now draws Edomae Sushi Shokunin – Kirara no Shigoto.
