terebikko

The Japanese have a term for someone who is glued to the television 24/7. They’re called, テレビっ子 “terebikko”. Literally it means “TV child”.

Still though, Americans watch twice as much TV as the Japanese

I dunno, maybe it’s cause American TV is better? We’ve got Heroes after all!

One of my favorite Japanese bands “The BOOM” has a song called テレビ子。

    「テレビ子、好き、好き!」
