I loved this film too. kinda like Little House On The Prairie, but Japanese. And good. It came out about the time of Tom Cruise’s the Last Samurai and compare and contrast of the same period in Japanese history can be completely hilarious.

Keep meaning to find a decent english translation of the book.

I loved Twilight Samurai. If you like it, i'd recommend The Hidden Blade. It's really good, too.
