Hakata Ippudou Ramen
May 26, 2007 on 4:11 pm | In Food | | Email This PostThere is a Ramen chain store that always has a huge line at lunch time, it’s called “ippudou” 「一風堂」and it specializes in Hakata style Ramen.
Ramen is the poor mans delicacy, and there is an 「一風堂」near IUC, in Queen’s Square in Yokohama, so I go there when my student wallet can afford it.
When you order your ramen, I recommend hard noodles, and the “red” soup. I believe it’s Aka-Miso.

Yes, Ippudou ramen is one of the best ramen spots in Fukuoka. If you like Ippudou ramen, you should try Ichiran ramen, which I believe is better. Plus, going to that shop is an experience in itself. If you go, you will see why! Ichiran actually originated in Ogori City near Kurume(where I am at) on the Nishitetsu line.

j, that’s a CRAZY coincidence! Why were you in this part of Yokohama for your first meal?

ahh… that’s cos i was visiting my friend, and was staying at her place. she lives in yokohama, so after dumping my stuff at her place, we just took a train there. she considers herself to be a hakata-jin, so thus the hakata ramen i guess.
…and that was the start of my love affair with ramen. its just so good. seriously, looking at the soup, mmmmm.
do you know kanagawa-shinmachi station? along the street they’ve got quite a few ramen shops that are pretty good. not hakata style though.
