I haven't looked at any of Rubin's translations other than a couple works of Murakami, but his approach of working at the paragraph level definitely helps in creating a readable book. Language students often hate this approach as they want to microanalyze everything, but in fiction flow is key. Thanks for asking those questions, Harvey!
