Early Sakura 2007 in Ueno

Posted on 11. Mar, 2007 @ 8:37 am by in Tokyo Views: 221

During the Tokyo run we ended up stopping by Ueno Park. Nice place!

Surprisingly there were already a few Sakura trees in bloom.

Officially, they’re expected to bloom around the week of the 19th I believe…

There are pictures taken by a much better photographer, and by a much better camera available here on my friends blog who came with us on the tour. Generally his blog has some amazing pictures of Japan, I would recommend taking a look through the entire site!

    Ooooh!

I love Ueno :) My husband and I stayed there for several days as part of our honeymoon in 2003. We were too early for cherry blossoms, unfortunately. They look beautiful!

I have seen cherry blossoms here in the States of course, but both times I went to Japan I managed to go out of season. Next time, though…next time! *shakes tiny fist*

I like your pics. Great pics on your friend’s site too! I need to learn to read Japanese…

We’re leaving Japan at the end of this month to move to Canada.
Wish you and Chika the best! Maybe well get to see you guys, before we leave, if were lucky.

    Nice Sakura pics.
The thing I hate about Hanami is all the drunk people who gather under the trees.
