Pink Box - Inside Japan’s Sex Clubs
March 4, 2007 on 9:58 pm | In Books, Crazy Consumers, Society | | Email This PostBanned in Japan, Joan Sinclair’s new photo book “Pink Box” looks deep into Japan’s commercial sex industry.

The author went through what can only be described as “trials and tribulations” to literally get her foot in the door to gather the pictures and information necessary for this project.
The Pink Box official website opens with rotating images of some of her sample photography.
To say the least. Interesting. Apparently there is a club called “Club Mammoth” in Tokyo which caters to men who like large women… And even a club which allows clients to bath with women in green Jello…
I haven’t seen this yet, but it looks to be quite the project! It would take guts, to work your way deep enough into this industry to get enough material to write this book…
Has anyone seen this in the bookstores yet?
- Harvey

This looks really interesting. I think I’ll get it off Amazon.

Well, Amazon Japan will let one preorder it. That may not be meaningful, though, since Amazon will pretty much let you preorder anything regardless of whether it will ever become available (and sometimes regardless of whether it even exists).

Believe it or not, but I need this book for a research paper I’m doing, comparing the sex industry of Denmark with Japan. Anyone have any idea on availability other than Amazon?

Looking forward to the report!
I think this would make a fun coffee table book… If I ever have a house that has a coffee table anyway…

Got mine today.
Lovely pink rubber sleeve! Very strange.
Some right quirky pics in there, and good variety.
