Spare me my life – Engrish Aerobics

Posted on 29. Jan, 2007 @ 10:04 am by harvey in Humor

Hey guys, quicky.

YouTube video of Japanese aerobics, to useful English phrases such as…

“Spare me my life” and the always useful, “I was robbed by two men”.

You gotta see this… This is the funniest Engrish I have seen in a long time…

[Edit] Hey this stuff is old news! It was on Japundit last year!

Actually the English is fine so I wouldn’t necessarily call this Engrish.

Still, I admit that the whole thing is absurd (& hilarious).

I want to share another one. I think that I read it from a book on Linguistics by Steven Pinker, in which he was explaining something related to the lateral vowels in different languages. He gives a very funny example which is something that happened in Japan, when the president Clinton came here after being elected, and the minister who received him at the airport told him something more or less like “we have been following the entire process of your erection”.

What, are you saying they mispronounced an L as an R? I don’t believe it. Why would they do that?
