Golden Dragon Ramen
January 18, 2007 on 2:26 pm | In Food, Osaka | | Email This PostRamen time in downtown Osaka!

This Ramen shop is called 金竜ラーメン (kinryuu ramen) and is located right on Sennichimae street in the Namba area.
This is the same street with the Kuidaore doll, that Haagen-dazs, and the famous giant moving crab on the Kanidooraku store. You know… The area right by hikkakebashi.
Anyone who has visited Osaka has been through this area, but had never tried this restaurant until recently.

There are only two things in the menu, conveniently translated into Chinese, English and Korean… You can get Ramen… Or Chaasyuu Ramen, which is Ramen with extra roast pork slices. The regular ramen is just 600 yen, and the Chaasyuu is 900 yen.

The shop is really outside, and the walls are plastic curtains. In the summer the curtains are down and it is really like an open cafe…. Ramen shop. When your ramen is ready the staff will shout out your number, and you have to bus your bowls yourself. It’s a fun environment.

The ramen noodles were good, but not amazing. The pork however, was very tender and tasty!
If you’re in the area and want a quick snack, give it a try.

Why do you call this a “ramen show” (below the first photo)?

That’s a pretty expensive bit of extra pork. Must be good. How much is refill of noodles?
Comment by mdchachi — January 19, 2007 #
You couldn’t get refills at this place chachi, you would just have to buy a whole ‘nother bowl of ramen. It’s kind of -fast food-ish in their service.
