Rabbits on the Moon

In the states, we say that the shadows on the moon look like the face of a man.

In Japan, they say the same shadows are rabbits who live on the moon making mochi (pounded rice cake).

You know how the character “Sailor Moon” has the name Usagi? Usagi means rabbit in Japanese, and well, she’s Sailor MOON.

Mere coincidence?

I think not…

Wow. As… insane as I am, I never thought about that.

It’d be a bit funnier if she had attacks having to do with making mochi.

You know, actually I know nothing about Sailor Moon. Other than that they are a band of super heros, tall and skinny, who all are named after the planets in our solar system.

I bet there are tons of other interesting links in Sailor Moon with Japanese culture…

Oh my gosh. The brilliance of that last observation. >_

Oh… It won’t be the last… It won’t be the last… MWAHAH. HAHAHA. HAHAHAHAHAHHAAH.

I used to be a huge Sailor Moon geek, and the mix of folklores from different countries in the universe of that series was very intriguing. You could also use some of the villains’ names to learn a little about geology!
