		<description>Dashi soup is a standard starting stock for many Japanese dishes!  You can make it yourself by boiling down an ingredient (which one depends on the type of dashi you're making).  You can also buy dashi mix at the store, and then add it to hot water to make the stock.  This dried version will go bad after awhile (but then so will your big pot of fresh stock, so hey).
