Vodafone in Czech

I was travelling in Europe a while ago, and came across this interesting (okay, so it’s just slightly funny) advertisement for Vodafone in Prague.

I cannot read Czech (Japanese is hard enough…), and am too lazy to put this through a translator, so if anyone can tell me what it says, please! I guess it says something along the lines of… 1 Czech guy, alone… no idea what the lower portion means.

Funny thing though (in case you completely missed the point of this post) the guy is sitting on a subway in Japan with a classic salary-man sleeping on his shoulder.

Good to know that Japan has a good image around the world!

Just think how much funnier this ad would be if Vodafone was actually worth a damn in Japan.

Hi, Harvey! Now this is a coincidence! I’ve been reading this blog for a while, but I’ve never came across this particular article. I live in Czech rep. and have my leaving exams in high school in few weeks and have decided to learn Japanese, that’s why I’m here :)
    To that advert, it says:

    “1 Czech word
    separates me from my home
    It’s in your hands. now”

As you say, Japanese is hard enough, but trust me, you don’t have any idea, how hard czech must be for a foreigner.. Even for a native speaker it’s sometimes difficult to understand the grammar properly..

yes that is very good literal translation. You know adverts and their side meanings. Inside of my mind it woke up something like this:

“just to have a one czech word…
    and feeling like at home”

I gues 10 different people would give you 10 different meanings.

Czech is my mothertang. By the way just started learning Nihongo and wouldn’t say that it is so dificult language (kanji is though). I would like to exchange my Czech or English for your Japanese.

I was one of photo models in this photo. The man standing on the left hand side and reading something. I am surprised when I find it 4 years after the photo shooting by accident through google image. Actually advertisement with this photo lasted for 14 months , then I got paid
very well . Financial reward to photo model is quite good , despite net working hours is just
    one full day.

Learning Japanese is not that difficult , if it goes with deep understanding of culture which is applicable to any language learning. I really feel so , while I teach Japanese last five years privately in person as well as through skype.
